緣起
國家理論中心於2015年在國立交通大學應用數學系舉辦「計算數學薪傳及新苗研討會」以及2016年在同一地點舉辦「Workshop on Computational Mathematics for Young Researchers」，聚集台灣計算數學界諸多先進及年輕學者，意在傳承經驗給計算界的新血，亦期許透過互相交流討論，以獲得後續研究方向的機會。然而，此研討會如曇花一現，之後未見續辦。於2019年6月交通大學應用數學系來舉辦「Graduate students meeting on Applied Mathematics」這樣的交流會議，由幾位計算數學專長的老師們發起，旨在給予計算數學相關研究專題的研究生一個互相交流的平台。接著在2020年由國立高雄大學舉辦「2020 Workshop on Scientific Computing and Applied Mathematics」，疫情期間於2021年國立陽明交通大學承接舉辦一次線上型式的會議「2021 NCTS Online Workshop on Computational Mathematics and Scientific Computing for Young Researchers」，之後陸續又於2022年在國立成功大學舉辦會議「2022 NCTS Workshop on Computational Mathematics and Scientific Computing for Young Researchers」。為維持研究活力的持續性，透過國家科學理論科學研究中心及台灣工業與應用數學會的支持，今年選定在 東海大學 持續舉辦這活動。
活動宗旨
此研討會目的為介紹新的研究方向與計算方法，提供對計算數學及應用數學領域感興趣的研究者一個交流的平台，並培育科學計算的新苗，以厚實台灣應用數學的實力。
Aims and Scope
This workshop will provide researchers with an opportunity to share their work and interests in computational mathematics and related topics. We invite senior researchers to share their experiences and insights toward new methodologies and technologies. In particular, we hope to build a platform for mutual collaboration and interaction among senior and junior researchers.
