The Department of Mathematics is dedicated to the teaching and research of all mathematics related fields in the University. It was established in 1970, and offers a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics since 1991. Students can receive a thorough training in mathematics within an excellent environment. They also benefit from a beautiful campus and a stimulating cultural atmosphere and develop a well-rounded vision of life. We have 17 faculty members and 9 teaching assistants a staff of about 27 and are located on the 5th and 6th floors in the Science and Technology Building. The goal of this department is to provide a superior academic environment for students who wish to study mathematics, so that they will receive a thorough basic training, and also develop a well-rounded philosophy of life. While maintaining these aims, we also intend to adapt to the rapid changes of technology and society by providing the multi-faceted professional training.
The goal of undergraduate program is to develop students' logical and analytical ability. The gradu-ate program's goals are to apply mathematical theory to various systems including but not limited to control system, dynamical system, and distributed parameter system etc., and to provide the training in computa-tional sciences.
